If you're the proud owner of a new Ford F-150 or Ford Fusion, you may have already noticed the effect of Ford's new LED headlights.
Called Crystal Diamond Light for its diamond-like lens, these LED headlights use less energy than a halogen headlamp to produce the same amount of light. The environmental benefit isn't the only thing about Crystal Diamond Light that will leave you feeling good.
The LEDs emit a white-blue color lighting. Though it's a common belief that the sun is yellow, that giant ball of plasma that warms our planet actually glows a blue-white color nearly identical to these new LED lights.
The eye is better adapted to see in this natural blue daylight hue, which makes it easier to see the road compared to yellow-toned halogen headlights.
There may even be an emotional advantage. Daylight colored lighting makes us feel more alert, and less sleepy behind the wheel. The even distribution of light, too, could reduce irritability, according to some experts.
