If you get a rock chip, the best plan of action is to deal with it pronto-the sooner the better. The longer you don't take care of a rock chip, the more likely it is going to grow into a crack. Getting the rock chip treated won't remove it from your windshield but it will prevent any further damage from wreaking havoc on your windshield. It's a pretty quick process, too-under 30 minutes or less. You will be glad you did, because the cost of a chip repair is loads cheaper than having to replace an entire windshield, which is normally in the budget. Some insurance companies will even cover the cost of your chip repair-all you need to do is bring your insurance card into your rock chip specialist. If you already have a crack, you can get it repaired, but the results aren't great and your windshield's weaker.
